They have 9 Ukrainians … Turkey evacuates 33 citizens from Argentina

On Wednesday, the Turkish authorities evacuated 33 of its citizens in Argentina, who were stuck by the consequences of the Coruna virus.

Anatolia correspondent stated that a Turkish Airlines plane took off from the “Ezeiza” International Airport in the capital, Buenos Aires, at 01:10 local time (05:10 GMT) carrying 33 Turkish citizens.

The Ambassador of Ankara to Argentina, Shafiq Altay, expressed his happiness at the evacuation process of citizens wishing to return to the homeland, wishing them safety and spending Ramadan with their families.

In his statement to Anatolia, Altay said that the plane evacuated 10 Argentine citizens while coming from Turkey.

He mentioned that the return trip to Turkey included 33 Turkish citizens, in addition to 9 Ukrainians who were coordinated with Ankara to transfer them to Turkey and then to Ukraine.

This comes as part of a wide campaign launched by the Turkish authorities on April 18 last, with instructions from President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, to evacuate thousands of citizens from 59 countries, to spend Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr with their families.

The campaign is conducted in coordination between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Interior, Transportation and Infrastructure, Health, Youth and Sports, and the respective states.
