The Civil Guard has found in a septic tank the body of a murdered woman in Tenerife, in a house in the municipality of Santa Úrsula, after her ex-partner was arrested yesterday, a man whom the victim had reported aggression during confinement due to the pandemic.
Civil Guard sources have reported that a third person had reported that the 43-year-old woman had not been seen since the weekend, and warned of a possible sexist aggression.
Faced with this complaint, the investigation was started and a man, former partner of the disappeared woman, was arrested. The victim, according to police sources, had denounced the man for assault during confinement and the Santa Úrsula Local Police had detained him. It was at that moment when they broke their romantic relationship, the sources added.
With the death of this woman, There are already 24 fatalities due to sexist violence so far this year and there are two cases under investigation, according to data from the Government Delegation against Sexual Violence.
The City Council of Santa Úrsula has called a minute of silence in memory of the murdered woman, the second in the Canary Islands for sexist violence during 2020.
