They find bodies of missing brothers in Tarazá

The Antioquia Police confirmed this Sunday the discovery of the bodies of Wilmer Andrés Ramírez and Edil Alfonso Ramírez, 17, twin brothers who were missing since last Thursday, August 27 in Tarazá, Bajo Cauca, Antioqueño.

According to the authorities, the brothers had received threats from armed groups that commit crimes in the area.

“On July 15, the parents of the victims activated the evacuation route with the companion of the Municipal Attorney and other government entities for the departure of their children from the municipality to the city of MedellínSince these young people had received threats, apparently, by individuals who belong to an armed group, ”Gómez said.

His disappearance would have been registered, after the young people held a meeting with the Municipality’s Personería and Family Police Station, in which they withdrew the complaints of intimidation against them.

Faced with the complaint that the two young men had filed about three weeks ago they had been transferred under protection by the authorities to Medellín. However, the reasons why Tarazá returned are unknown.

Security analysts warn that in this area there are several groups that commit crimes.

“It is likely that these events are going to be repeated, since the dispute between these groups of these drug trafficking sectors is forcing other nearby routes such as the one to the southwest of Antioquia that also passes through the Andes, where we also saw some homicides recently,” said John Marulanda, security and defense consultant.

According to local media, the bodies of the victims presented signs of torture.

This is the third violent event in a week in the department, added to the massacres registered last Sunday and Thursday in the municipalities of Venice and Andes.
