In the last few hours, the authorities of the capital of Antioquia captured Yojan Andrés Tobón Ramírez, 34, for preparing, falsifying and marketing coronavirus vaccination cards.

It was learned that this man carried out his actions in a shopping center in the Lotero neighborhood in Medellín, where he later sold false documents to citizens who have not yet applied the doses or those who oppose the vaccine.

According to the investigations delivered by the Support Structure of the Medellín Sectional, this subject would have prepared between December 2021 and May 2022, certificates that were not authentic and sold them at a price of 10,000 to 60,000 pesos.

In addition, the authorities detailed that Tobón, also offered citizens the possibility of registering documents to the National Vaccination Plan system with the aim of being able to have the digital certificate; for this illegal procedure he charged the sum of at least 400,000 pesos.

During the procedure, the Sijín of the National Police seized a computer, a cell phone, several false vaccination cards, some that had already been filled out and others that had not been processed. As well as six Colombian identity cards and six false passwords were found in his possession.

“It is a public document, which in the event that an authority determines that it is false, can be punished by law and have between six and eight years in prison,” explained Bermont.

New measures in Colombia

A few weeks ago, the National Government had announced new measures in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic in Colombia.

For his part, President Iván Duque repealed, as of May 1, the measures that ordered the requirement of the vaccination card.

“Similarly, as of May 1, Decree 1615 of 2021 will be repealed, which eliminates the request for a vaccination card for those who enter public and private events of a massive nature,” tweeted the head of state.

It should be noted that on that same date the obligation to wear a mask in closed spaces was eliminated, but He clarified that this biosafety measure will remain in health services and transportation systems.

“As of May 1, the use of masks in closed places is withdrawn, with exception of: health services, nursing homes, transportation and closed spaces of educational institutions. The measure will apply in municipalities with 70% second doses and 40% reinforcement,” the Colombian president published on his Twitter account.

Another of the decisions that President Duque adopted in the company of his work team and epidemiological experts is to extend the health emergency in Colombia for two more months.

Finally, the Administrative Director of the Presidency of the Republic, Víctor Muñoz, indicated that The health emergency is a tool that allows directing special measures to continue fighting the pandemic, with resources to strengthen the Colombian health system.
