Boyko Borissov is currently being operated on in a Sofia hospital, “24 Chasa” has learned. The resigned prime minister again has problems with the meniscus of his right knee. This was confirmed to our reporter by the government information service.

Borisov felt pain and his knee swelled while playing football this afternoon. Because of this, on his way to the Council of Ministers, he decided to go through Pirogov.

Installed there tocerebellar edema (swelling of the bone marrow – b.a.), torn anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments. He was advised to have an operation because the injury was severe and he was admitted to another hospital in Sofia. So far, only the meniscus has been operated on, which has come out, is stuck and is rubbed bone to bone in his knee. Therefore, it may be necessary to place an artificial joint.

Because of the operation, Borissov missed a telephone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Borisov has already undergone several meniscus surgeries in 2015 and 2017. At that time, he was operated on at Sofiamed Hospital. It is possible that he is there now, because Assoc. Prof. Dr. Antoni Georgiev works there, who has been operating on Borisov since 2009, when he first cut him at the Military Medical Academy.
