They apply vaccines against Covid-19 in temporary shelter of the DIF – La Voz de la Frontera

With support from the Ministry of Health and the National Guard approximately 127 girls and boys between the ages of 5 and 11 were immunized from the Temporary Shelter Mexicali of DIF Baja California and family homes.4

The president of DIF Baja California, Mavis Olmeda García, highlighted the work carried out by the federal government, which has intensified vaccination campaigns at the national level, and that this time it was the turn of girls and boys between 5 and 11 years of age, who In Mexico they represent around 15 million people, so it is essential to strengthen their immune system to prevent or reduce the damage caused by Covid-19.

On this occasion, of the 127 minors vaccinated, 35 are from the Mexicali Temporary Shelter, and 92 from one of the children’s homes that attended this vaccination campaign carried out at the said shelter’s facilities.

“Our girls and boys are the most valuable thing we have, they are the future of our nation, so we have the responsibility to guarantee the right to health. Today more than ever we must reinforce these vaccination campaigns to counteract the effects that this virus has caused worldwide,” said the president of DIF Baja California.

He stressed that this campaign will be carried out in the coming days for approximately 600 minors, who meet the range of 5 to 11 years who are in homes in the municipalities of Tijuana, Ensenada, Playas de Rosarito, Tecate and San Quintín, who will be convened in the coming days to receive this vaccine.

Similarly, if there are children under 11 years of age and older who require a booster or second dose, the health authorities will be providing the necessary facilities for them to be vaccinated.
