The federal government presented on Tuesday the final list of states that joined the Institute of Health for Welfare.
“23 state governments they clearly committed themselves to this new scheme and adhered to the health system for Well-being, “said Hugo López Gatell, deputy secretary of Health.
With this, the official said that nine states will not be in that body, which are: Aguascalientes, Baja California Sur, Guanajuato, Jalisco, Nuevo León, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Michoacán and Tamaulipas.
However, the administrations of the last four states did sign agreements with the IMSS Wellness, clarified López Gatell.
On the announcement made Friday by the Association of Governors of National Action (GOAN) on the signing of a non-centralized coordination agreement with the Government, López Gatell emphasized that you cannot have a union with the Institute “halfway”.
“We all have to be clear that health is a right that is guaranteed in article 4 of the Constitution and that if we do not have a unity of purpose, this will be ‘dead letter’ ”he stressed.
As an example, the Undersecretary of Health spoke about the consolidated purchase of medicines. He emphasized that the Government obtains savings thanks to this way of acquiring the inputs.
“That can only be achieved if there is a solidarity scheme. If a state is left out, that state will buy at a premium because it will buy less than what a country buys, ”he said.
