American businessman Jeff Bezos topped Forbes magazine’s annual list of the world’s richest people for the third consecutive year, estimating his fortune at $ 113 billion.
Thus, as in the two previous editions, the founder of the e-commerce company Amazon was the only one in 2020 to exceed 100 billion dollars.
Also on the podium for the wealthiest are Microsoft founder Bill Gates, with $ 98 billion, and Bernard Arnault, the chief executive of the Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy (LVMH) conglomerate, whose $ 76 billion fortune makes him the richest man in Europe.
They are followed by investor Warren Buffett, with $ 67.5 billion, and the founder of Oracle technology, Larry Ellison, with $ 59 billion.
The ‘ranking’ – which this year includes a total of 2,095 billionaires worldwide with a combined fortune of 8 billion dollars – continues with the owner of brands in the textile industry such as Zara and Inditex, Amancio Ortega ($ 55.1 billion) and Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg ($ 54.1 billion).
