In a moment that surprised many, President Luis Abinader was transferred from his residence to the National Congress in a Tesla brand electric car, where he officially became the Dominican Head of State.
This luxurious vehicle, which can only be acquired first-hand through the website of the North American company, differs a lot from the one that the president traveled prior to the day of inauguration.
Until now Tesla only offers four vehicles: Y, 3, X and S models.
Each of these models come in different versions, each with optional updates that can drastically affect the price, which can range from $ 37,990 (around 2,217,837 Dominican pesos) and the US $ 123,990 (7,236,760 Dominican pesos).
Also, Tesla cars have a range between 402 and 646 kilometers, depending on the model, according to the manufacturers.
Despite the high price of some of its vehicles, its maintenance is less expensive, since according to Tesla no annual check-up is necessary, only recommending this type of service only when it is necessary to replace a part.

His first car, the Roadster, was revealed a few days after the 150th anniversary of the Croatian scientist’s birth in 2006.
