Following their progress, the Business Register (ER) may have to decide on the validity of the most likely divergent decisions expected at the meetings.

On December 6, a repeated extraordinary meeting of members will essentially take place on the Internet platform at 10 am, said Lauris Zīverts, the organizer of the meeting, a deputy of Jelgava City Council. By contacting Zīverts, journalists will be able to get access to the meeting.

Although the venue of the event is officially mentioned in a closed area in Ogre, Ogre stage, Jānis Čakstes prospekts 2, in this case it is a more formal address, because in essence the meeting will take place on the Internet platform, Zīverts explained. Previously, the extraordinary meeting of members did not have a quorum, therefore a repeated meeting was convened.

A vote of confidence in the Board is planned at the members’ meeting, according to the information published on the website “kpvlv.com”. Zīverts pointed out that it is also planned to decide on distrust of the previous board and election of a new board. One tenth of the party members have initiated the meeting of members. As indicated in the justification of the meeting, the members who convened it consider that the party board has not acted economically and diligently with the party’s financial resources.

The majority of the party’s board had previously tried to expel Zīvert from the party by taking a decision of the board to expel Zīvert from the party. Zīverts pointed out that the majority of the board of “KPV LV” convened a meeting of other members on December 12. Some members said that the December 12 meeting would call for the decisions expected at the December 6 meeting to be revoked. Zīverts admitted that the UR will have to make a decision regarding which meeting’s decisions should be declared valid.

The politician believes that the board has announced a meeting on December 12 to confuse members that members’ meetings are scheduled for two different dates.

Zīverts also stated that despite the decision of the board to expel him from the party, he was not expelled because the board could not exclude a member of the board elected at a wider meeting. This is also confirmed by the fact that in communication with UR and the bank with which he has a KPV LV account, he is still considered a member of the party’s board, the politician explained.

In his turn, Ēriks Pucens, a member of the board of “KPV LV”, a deputy of the Saeima, emphasized that Zīverts was expelled from the party and could not be considered a member of the party. Pucens emphasized that in accordance with the party’s statutes approved by the members, the decision of the board to expel the member takes effect as of the moment of its adoption.

“KPV LV” UR has sent a decision to exclude Zīvert and it will be possible to see how UR will act. The politician pointed out that the former party co-chairman Artuss Kaimiņš was no longer on the party’s board, but he still had the opportunity to access the party’s account, which it should not have been.

Pucens also explained that the board had convened the meeting on December 12, at the request of the members, so that it could take place remotely in accordance with the conditions of the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (SPKC). The board of “KPV LV” considers that the procedure for announcing the meeting on December 6 and other conditions have been violated, as well as some members do not know who has contacted them about this meeting convened on Sunday.

A member of the board of “KPV LV” pointed out that UR could not accept the decisions expected on December 6, because there have been procedural violations in convening tomorrow’s meeting.

As previously clarified in the party, the board’s decision to exclude Zīverts is related to a negative assessment of the politician’s public communication, while Zīverts associates his exclusion from “KPV LV” with joining for openness and truth and calls such a step excessive.

The Jelgava City Council deputy mentions as the main reason for his expulsion from the party that he has previously given an interview to the TV3 program “Nekā personīga”, in which he “honestly and openly” answered the questions about the party’s financial management in connection with this year’s Riga City Council elections.

As reported, “Nekā personīgi” reported that the pre-election campaign of the party “KPV LV” Riga City Council for 126,000 euros was created by a catering company without previous experience in politics.

In its turn, the management of “KPV LV” has rejected the accusations of inappropriate actions in the issues of financing.
