GENEVA, KOMPAS.com – United Nations (PBB) said on Friday (3/6/2022), that there would be no victor from the invasion Russia ke Ukraine as the conflict entered its 100th day and the Moscow troops pushed deeper into the region Donbass, eastern Ukraine.
“This war has and will not have a winner. Instead, we have witnessed for 100 days what was lost: lives, homes, jobs and prospects,” Amin Awad, UN Assistant Secretary-General and Crisis Coordinator for Ukraine, said in a statement.
The milestone came when Kyiv announced that Moscow now controls 20 percent of Ukraine, including Crimea and parts of the Donbass captured in 2014.

The Russian invasion, which began on February 24, saw Moscow forces first try to attack Kyiv before relinquishing control of the area around Ukraine’s capital and second city, Kharkiv in the northeast.
However, they have made steady gains in the south and east.
“This war has taken an unacceptable toll on the people and engulfed almost all aspects of civilian life,” Awad said. AFP.
“In just three months, nearly 14 million Ukrainians were forced to flee their homes, the majority of them women and children,” the statement said.
The United Nations says it is working to limit the devastating impact of the war on food security by seeking to unblock trade in critical grains and commodities.
Cereal prices have soared on falling exports from Ukraine, sharpening the impact of conflict and climate change and stoking fears of social unrest.
“We need peace. The war must end now,” the UN statement said.
