When you think of developer Gust, you almost certainly think of the many Atelier games they have produced over the years. However, that’s not all that comes out of their kitchen.
Four years ago, BLUE REFLECTION was released, a JRPG with isekai elements and a focus on friendship and collaboration. A new franchise that immediately appealed to fans of the genre. That a sequel never came was therefore disappointing. But on November 9, the summer sun will shine again with the arrival of BLUE REFLECTION: Second Light for PlayStation 4, PC and Nintendo Switch. The game is not a direct sequel to the first part, but follows three new heroines: Ao Hoshizaki, Kokoro Utsubo, and Yuki Kinjou.
This trio is drawn to another world full of monsters, but no memories. And as if that’s not strange enough, there’s also a school…that floats in the air. To unravel the mysteries of this strange environment, the ladies must work together to survive and bring hidden powers to the surface. They do this by growing as a person, bonding with each other, crafting new items and improving the school. We will discover exactly how that works this autumn. Until then, you’ll have to make do with this trailer, which beautifully showcases Mel Kishida’s new designs.
