Good blood glucose control is an important factor and has been shown to reduce the risk of complications in people with diabetes mellitus type 1 and diabetes mellitus type 2.
In daily clinical practice, examination of blood glucose levels, good fasting blood glucose (GDP), blood glucose post-prandial (GDPP), as well as when and HbA1c were performed to assess glycemic control for people with diabetes mellitus.
These examinations are generally carried out in the laboratory in the morning, at a certain time or when the person is treated at the clinic.
But it cannot provide accurate information regarding the true daily blood glucose variability of a person with diabetes mellitus.
Therefore, structured independent monitoring of blood glucose (PGDM) with a good glucometer is required.
Because it can provide information about the variability of daily blood glucose levels for diabetics.
It is important to know, PGDM is a periodic blood glucose check that is carried out using a glucometer by diabetics themselves or their families.
PGDM should be carried out by diabetics and patients’ families who have received education from trained health personnel.
Remember, the wrong way to use a glucometer can result in inaccurate blood glucose or blood sugar values up to 91-97 percent.
