There are 7 places in our solar system where life is said to exist. They are similar to Earth

As the Kepler space telescope searches for Earth-like exoplanets and the SETI Institute searches the galaxy for signs of intelligent life, astronomers hope that life itself may be closer than we think. Right in our solar system.

The planets and moons that surround us are much more active and dynamic than scientists previously assumed. If there is life in our solar system somewhere other than Earth, it is likely that it is clinging to one of these celestial bodies.

7 places with the existence of life

Europa is a place where the existence of life has long been assumed. Jupiter’s fourth largest moon could contain more water than all of Earth’s oceans combined. And where there is water, there really could be life. The thickness of the ice on the surface of Europa is estimated at about 16 km. This means that any life in the oceans below would have to depend on an energy source other than photosynthesis.

The existence of life is also assumed on the Red Planet. One of the scientists, Joot Houtkooper from the University of Giessen, Germany, believes that there could be a type of life on Mars that depends on a mixture of water and hydrogen peroxide. Given the proximity of Mars, the best place to look for life could be its salty water, which appears in Horowitz Crater in the summer.

Enceladus, Saturn’s sixth largest moon, is interesting as a possible home for alien life for many of the same reasons as Europa. Enceladus also has subsurface oceans beneath an insulating layer of ice. This could mean the existence of heat, energy, and complex life-supporting molecules.

Saturn’s largest moon Titan is the only celestial body in the Solar System known to have liquid lakes on its surface in addition to Earth. However, these are filled with liquid ethane and methane rather than water and are constantly replenished by hydrocarbon rains from the atmosphere. Although Titan has a freezing temperature of -200 degrees Celsius, scientists do not rule out the possibility of life.

Similarity to Earth as a clear “yes”

Although the temperature on the surface of Venus is higher than 450 degrees Celsius, according to scientists, there could also be parts where the climate would be more similar to Earth. Water vapor, oxygen, sulfur dioxide and carbon monoxide are found high in the dense clouds of Venus. These could be a food source for possible microscopic Venusians.

New Horizons’ recent flyby of Pluto revealed that the icy world and its largest moon, Charon, show surprisingly active geological activity. This discovery has led many scientists to consider whether subsurface oceans may also exist here. There are also ice mountains on Pluto that are roughly 11,000 meters high. The mutual gravitational pull between Pluto and Charon, which drives these geological changes, could also provide enough heat and energy for life. It could be hiding in any reservoirs of liquid that might exist below the surface.
