Thekla Reuten sees Dutch film sets getting tidy due to corona virus | NOW

According to Thekla Reuten, Dutch film sets are a lot tidier due to all corona measures. The actress says in Het Parool that the threatening virus has created a different kind of concentration.

“The striking thing is that COVID-19 has provided an enormous focus. Dutch sets are usually a bit messy compared to foreign productions. The virus makes things more streamlined.”

In the newspaper, 45-year-old Reuten lists numerous precautions to ensure the safety of the actors and other employees. Despite these regulations, Reuten remains wary of the virus.

“I feel strongly about my responsibility. My mother, who is now 75 years old, is with us for a day every week. When I recently had another negative result, I hugged her extensively in my arms.”

In a year that is not only plagued by the corona virus, the Black Lives Matter protests and other abuses and unrest, Reuten takes a different look at her own work: “Film feels like an afterthought this year, if I’m honest. I have the need to do something concrete for the world, let’s go rock bottom with humanity if we are not careful. How we treat each other, what we expel, how we treat refugees … “
