A responsible source in the Egyptian youth team revealed that the team went to the stadium for its match against Tunisia in the second round of the North African Championship, which qualifies for the 2021 African Nations Cup in Mauritania.
The source said, in exclusive statements, Laila Koura, that the youth team is now on the way to the Olympic Stadium, Hammadi Al-Aqrabi, in Rades, to play the match scheduled for three in the afternoon Cairo time.
He added that the exceptional Corona swab conducted by the team proved the negative sample of two new players, so that the number of players eligible to participate in the match would be 16, which is allowed by enough slips.
According to the CAF regulations, 11 players, including goalkeeper + 4 players, must be present to allow the team to compete in the tournament, a condition that was not met against Libya in the first round that was scheduled for Tuesday.
The Egyptian youth team enters the match in last place after it was considered a loser in the opening match in Libya due to the suffering of 14 players from infection with the emerging Corona virus, Covid-19.
The Egyptian Football Association had announced two new cases of Coronavirus, confirming that it was not possible to play the Tunisia match due to the outbreak of infection.
The duo, Mustafa Messi, player of Ceramica Cleopatra, and Ahmed Hossam “Mido”, player of El Gouna, arrived on Thursday in Tunisia, to join the ranks of the youth team, to complete the list (before two positive samples appeared).
It is noteworthy that the North African Championship witnesses the participation of five teams, namely: Libya, Tunisia, Egypt, Morocco and Algeria, in one group, from which the first and second places will qualify for the 2021 African Cup, which will be held in Mauritania.
