The head of the Xbox brand is convinced that the Xbox Series S will turn out to be a big hit in the long run. Phil Spencer believes in the power of his small platform to outperform the Xbox Series X.

Microsoft will start the new generation with two consoles: “the strongest next-gen” and the “smallest Xbox”. The corporation decided to make such a move for the first time, but apparently the company has been thinking about long-distance competition with the competition from the very beginning.
Phil Spencer during the conversation with Kotaku did not hide that Microsoft will sell all the prepared devices during the holiday season, but his corporation and Sony have one problem – the production of equipment. It is the ability to deliver the right number of devices that will affect the market share:
“I think we will sell every copy we deliver. I believe the demand will simply exceed the supply of pre-orders. For us and PlayStation, the production supply chain will dictate participation [w rynku] more than anything else.”
The head of the Xbox brand does not hide that in his opinion the price of consoles will be the most important – and this is why Xbox Series S is expected to outperform its more powerful brother:
“Looking at the entire generation, our expectations are that the price will be really important and you will see that the S-Series will sell better.”
The journalist also raised the topic of potential problems with the performance of the Xbox Series S. In his opinion, the developers need to do the right job and compared the situation to the PC market, where there are many computers with different configurations:
“I’m not worried [o osiągi Xboksa Series S – red.]. I think we have evidence of that, and as we said before – on PCs you can get absolutely amazing looking games on great hardware and have those games scaled to the capabilities of your devices. But there is work to be done. There is no doubt about it. This is a fact because you now have two performance specs, I am not going to stand here or try the PR chat and say two different specs are the same as one. It is not so. We do it because we want to expand the market “
