The Xbox One is a thing of the past

“We wanted to focus fully on the production of the new Xbox Series S | X gaming systems, so we stopped producing all Xbox One consoles as early as the end of 2020,” says Microsoft.

Although there was speculation about the end of production last year, the American software giant has only officially confirmed this, as the Verge server pointed out.

In any case, it was obviously a good move from Microsoft. Of the next-generation consoles, only its Series S is available in stores, and the competing PlayStations 5, like the Xbox Series X, have been hopelessly sold out for more than a year.

Due to the lack of parts for the PlayStation 5, Sony even decided to extend the production of the older four, which has been on store shelves since 2013. Originally, production lines with the PlayStation 4 were to be stopped last year. However, according to Reuters, Sony has decided to continue production. Unlike five, four is still available in stores and its sales are constantly growing.

It can also be a more attractive price tag, four can be obtained in stores for CZK 7,990, or in a set with three games for CZK 9,190. On the other hand, the PlayStation 5 will cost potential applicants CZK 13,490, and the version without a drive called Digital Edition will cost CZK 10,790.

In addition, many game developers still offer new titles for both the PlayStation 5 and the older four. Because of this, buying a PlayStation 4 can be an attractive solution for many users when five are missing from store shelves.

For the sake of completeness, let’s add that the competing Xbox Series X will cost potential applicants 13,499 CZK. The lightweight Series S model then costs CZK 7,999.
