World record player in card jumping Armands Duplantis on Friday in Doha celebrated the victory of the Diamond League in athletics in the last competition of the season.

The 20-year-old Dunplantis has won all 16 competitions this season, and he has set world records both indoors and in the stadium.

On Friday, the Swede won 5.82 meters, which is 33 centimeters less than last week’s world record. With the same result, the American Sam Cendrix and the Frenchman Reno Lavillenier were in the top three, but they overcame the 5.82-meter mark with more attempts than the Double.

Meanwhile, in the 800 meters for the women with the best result of the season in the world – one minute and 57.68 seconds – the Kenyan Faith Kipjegona won, which was one of the closest followers when about a quarter of the distance was left by the finish. Second place winner Estere Gerrero from Spain lost her 1.54 seconds.

The Olympic champion Eleine Tompson-Hireha was unbeaten in the women’s 100-meter sprint. The Jamaican finish time was 10.87 seconds, but the Ivorian Marie José Talou was 0.34 seconds slower.

A new format was tried in the women’s long jump competition – after five series, only the three best owners continued the fight in the sixth series, moreover, the previously jumped distances were canceled. Ukrainian Marina Beha-Romanchuk won the final with a 6.91-meter long jump, 6.68 meters for Nigerian Essay Brume and 6.55 meters for Swedish Hadi Sagnia. In the first five series, the best result – 6.85 meters – was for the Swede.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there were eight competitions in the Diamond League calendar this season, and the athletes did not fight for the overall points and there were no finals in the series.
