The former head of the National Institute for Astronomical and Geophysical Research in Egypt, Dr. Ashraf Tadros, announced the occurrence of an astronomical phenomenon in the world’s sky today, Friday, October 16.

And according to the “Masrawy” website, Tadros said, “The phenomenon is represented by the new moon, or the new moon, and at this time the moon will not be visible in the sky all night.”

He explained that “this timing is the best time of the month to observe faint objects such as galaxies, star clusters, asteroids and faint stars.”

He pointed out that “the phenomenon does not have any damages to human activity in general on Earth, and is being watched by amateur astronomers and those interested in observing the sky for the splendor of the scenery and taking professional pictures of it.”

Earlier, scientists from the University of Durham in Britain created a model for the consequences of the collision of the Earth with another celestial body, as they believed that the moon appeared as a result of such a disaster.

The data showed that the planet Earth lost up to 60 percent of its atmosphere after the collision and the appearance of the moon.

According to The Astrophysical Journal Letters, the study included more than 300 simulations created using a supercomputer. According to them, it is believed that a planet the size of Mars collided with Earth about 4.5 billion years ago.

Scientists have studied hundreds of different scenarios in terms of angle, speed, diameter and the nature of the celestial body when it collides with the Earth. The results showed that the planet Earth lost 10 to 60 percent of its atmosphere.

The scientists said that the data they obtained is useful not only for studying ancient history, but also for better understanding how cosmic collisions affect rocky planets outside the solar system.
