A woman from Iaşi arrived in serious condition at ATI, with COVID, after addressing the doctors too late, due to the fact that she was afraid of being killed in the hospital, with oxygen. The woman became infected, but did not get tested and started antibiotic treatment, being afraid of all the misfortunes she heard around her.
Brought to the hospital in a serious condition, the woman from Iași had a lung damage of 90%, being immediately hospitalized at the ATI.
There were no more places at the Infectious Diseases Hospital, so the woman was sent to the Neurosurgery Hospital.
Despite the doctors’ efforts, the 55-year-old woman died a few days later.
“Yesterday, two deaths were registered at the Neurosurgery Hospital. These are two women, admitted to the ATI ward with a serious form of the disease. A 55-year-old woman from Iași had been hospitalized since August 8, 2021, without comorbidities, only with complications following the infection and had a serious lung disease. The second patient was 85 years old and had been hospitalized for seven days. Everyone needs to understand that you don’t have to wait to die to believe in the disease in Covid. A timely consultation makes the difference between life and death “, said Vasile Cepoi, director of the Iaşi Public Health Directorate.
