The police arrested Samsu Sulaiman (63) for allegedly killing a woman with the initials W (63), who body found in sack in Pagar Alam, South Sumatra (South Sumatra). Police said Samsu was the victim’s husband.

“The perpetrator and the victim are husband and wife,” said Pagar Alam Police Chief AKBP Arif Harsono when asked for confirmation, Monday (10/18/2021).

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Pagaralam Police, AKP Najamudin, said that Samsu was arrested in the railroad area in Prabumulih this morning. Samsu and W are suspected of being newlyweds.

“We arrested him this morning at the railroad area in Prabumulih City. From the arrest, information was obtained, so the victim and the perpetrator were only married a month and a half ago,” said Najamudin.

Najamudin said the victim was suspected of carrying a lot of wealth when he married Samsu. The motive for the murder is still being investigated.

“This victim when she married the perpetrator carried a lot of wealth, both of them were old. The domicile of the perpetrator and the victim were different, the victim was in Pagar Alam Selatan. The perpetrator was in Pagar Alam Utara, not far from the location where the body was found. in,” he explained.

Previously, the woman’s body was found in the bushes of Simpang Peasant, Beringin Jaya Village, Pagar Alam, at around 10.00 WIB, Sunday (17/10). The body was found in a sack with bruising.

“Yes, that’s right, the body of a (woman) was found in a sack in the bushes. The identity of the victim so far has not been identified because his hands are bruised and his face is in the shape of a skull,” said AKBP Arif.

Police suspect the victim had been dead for more than 10 days. However, the police could not confirm how long the body had been at the scene.

“We suspect that the death toll has been more than 10 days, but we don’t know how long the position in the bush has been,” he said.

According to him, the victim was allegedly molested before he died. There were lacerations caused by sharp objects in the victim’s rotting abdomen and rope ties to the victim’s legs and arms.

“Yes, it is suspected that he was a victim of violence because when he found his hands and feet tied and there was a torn wound in the abdomen, it was suspected that it was caused by a sharp object,” he explained.
