The well-known fraudster of the Santiago taxi drivers arrested by the National Police
On March 24, the National Police took over the complaint of a Santiago taxi driver, in which the complainant explained the alleged scam.
According to the taxi driver, in the early morning of the 24th he made a service that a user requested and during the trip she requested a change of 50 euros, at the same time that he promised to return it together with the payment of the service once it was finished.
Later, the client requested an intermediate stop on the route, committing to return to the vehicle to continue the journey to her destination.
The taxi driver trusted the woman, but she did not return, not paying the amount of the service or part of the requested change.
After seven complaints filed with the same “modus operandi” the agents managed to identify the alleged perpetrator of the scam.
The victims are taxi drivers from the Galician capital, but also from municipalities in the provinces of A Coruña and Pontevedra.
After his location, the agents proceeded to arrest him and open the corresponding police proceedings.
The police intervention was carried out by agents of the Local Brigade of Judicial Police of the Local Police Station of Santiago de Compostela.
