The Weeknd and Kendrick Lamar indicted for alleged plagiarism NOW

The number Pray for Me from The Weeknd and Kendrick Lamar may have been plagiarized. The duo that made the song for the soundtrack of the superhero movie Black Panther, would divide from the number Sunrise from the rock band Yeasayer.

According to court documents that were viewed by TMZ it is a part that is sung by a choir that consists of voices from the band members of the rock band. They describe it as voices sung “in their highest register, with a pulsating vibrato”.

This passage would have used The Weeknd and Lamar a total of eight times in Pray for Me and have edited, “with the aim of being able to hide the plagiarism,” said Yeasayer.

The band thinks it is clear that the passage is out Sunrise comes and therefore demands all the profit made with the number Pray for Me. They also want compensation and the promise that the number will no longer be sold or dialed.

Both The Weeknd and Lamar have not yet responded to the charge.
