A well-paid and disqualified driver was detained last night by police officers from the Second RU in Plovdiv. Around 11:00 p.m., the uniformed officers responded to a report of an accident with material damage on “Peshtersko Shosse” Blvd. – a Peugeot passenger car crashed into a roadside tree. The investigation found that the 49-year-old man behind the wheel did not have a driver’s license, and his breathalyzer test showed about 3 parts per million of alcohol.
Two hours earlier, the police in Stamboliyski found another traffic offender, 23 years old. When he was stopped with the Fiat car he was driving, the law enforcement officers became suspicious of the young man’s behavior. A drug test was conducted and the result was positive.
A check in the information system showed that the 23-year-old had his driving license revoked after an administrative penalty came into effect. Quick proceedings were initiated against the two drivers, they were detained with police warrants.
