Reporting from CNN, Saturday (11/07/2020), wealth Musk jumped more than 6 billion US dollars or the equivalent of approximately Rp. 86.4 trillion (exchange rate of Rp. 14,410 per US dollar) on Friday (07/10/2020). This happened after Tesla shares rocketed 10.8 percent to a record level of 1,544 dollars per share.
Musk alone has a 20.8 percent stake in Tesla. With Tesla’s brilliant performance, Musk’s share ownership value reached nearly 60 billion US dollars or equivalent to Rp 864.2 trillion.
Warren Buffett’s wealth dropped significantly this week after he donated his Berkshire Hathaway shares worth nearly 3 billion US dollars or around Rp 43.2 trillion for charity.
Buffett himself had planned to donate a large portion of his wealth to charity work.
In the past year, Tesla shares surged more than 500 percent. This figure surpasses almost all companies in the S&P 500 stock index.
The electric car manufacturer is currently the most valuable automotive company on earth.
Musk, 49, is believed to be the richest person in the world based on a salary package that was approved by Tesla shareholders in 2018. Currently, the position is held by Aamazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos.
At the end of May 2020, Tesla gave stock options worth 1.8 billion US dollars to Musk. The same thing has just been given to the father of 7 children, the second time in two months.
