According to the representative of Dzintari Concert Hall Mārtiņš Pučka, together with the Latvian Radio big band they will play special arrangements for the big band from the critically acclaimed trio programs “Vein Plays Ravel” and “Symphonic Bop”.
Founded in Basel, Switzerland, the trio Vein is described as an expressive jazz ensemble that has received many awards and acclaim from European jazz critics such as Rolling Stone, Jazz Wise Magazine, Frankfurter Zeitung and Jazz Special Copenhagen. “.
The band’s name “vein” embodies the style of play of the trio – Michael Arbenz (piano), Thomas Lähns (double bass) and Florian Arbenz (drums) – who adopt the jazz tradition power while strengthening it with the treasures of classical music. All members of the trio “Vein” feel equally good both in the complex scores of contemporary music and in the free use of the language of jazz improvisation. The “Vein” trio has collaborated with such world-famous soloists as trombonist Glenn Ferris, saxophonists Greg Osby, Dave Liebman, Andy Sheppard and others.
