THE VIGO-PORTO RAILWAY CONNECTION RETURNS: There is already a date for the return of the Celtic Train: August 16 | Radio Vigo | Present

Last week we advanced the meeting between Comboios de Portugal and RENFE to set a date for the return of the railway connection between Porto and Vigo. After that meeting, there were others to specify the date exactly and under what conditions they could be activated. The railway connection was closed with the closure of borders in March but did not open on July 1, as was originally planned. From the Eixo Atlántico there were several occasions on which both the president of RENFE and Comboios de Portugal have been asked to make decisions to activate this line as soon as possible. The decision was known this Wednesday, July 29. The Celtic Train will reconnect Galicia with Portugal from Sunday, August 16, as confirmed by the Eixo Atlántico in the negotiations carried out in Lisbon and Madrid. Of course, because of the information they have in the Eixo Atlántico, they will only be activated at 50%; in other words, there will be a one-way train from Porto to Vigo and a return train from Vigo to Porto. For the recovery of the other two frequencies, we will still have to wait because, we had already been told by various railway unions, the existing problems with the lack of train drivers by RENFE.
