- CONMEBOL resolved to accept the request for an extension for the definition of venues presented by the Associations of Argentina, Chile and Uruguay.
CONMEBOL’s Sanitary Concentration Protocol has already been approved by the governments of Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru and Venezuela. With this, the CONMEBOL Libertadores and CONMEBOL Sudamericana parties are authorized in the territories of those countries. The Health Concentration Protocol was prepared by a panel of experts convened by CONMEBOL and complements other standards and prevention measures that the entity will apply for the safe resumption of international tournaments.
In view of the particular current circumstances, CONMEBOL also informs that it has resolved to follow up on the request of the Associations of Argentina, Chile and Uruguay and grant an extension to the deadline for defining the venues in which the clubs from these countries will play as venues in CONMEBOL Libertadores, to begin on September 15. These federations may thus finalize the procedures and certifications before their respective health authorities. The new term expires inevitably on Tuesday, August 25, at 6:00 p.m. (Paraguayan time). It is appropriate to remember that the regulations enable the option for clubs to exercise locality outside their countries, if the Sanitary Concentration Protocol is not approved.
