The US Curb app for taxis implements the option to know the price of the trip in advance
Curb, the number one taxi application in North America, has introduced the option of knowing the cost of the trip in advance for official taxis, a historic step for the taxi industry.
Designed to give passengers the confidence of knowing what they will pay before their trips begin, the feature is now available in New York City and Washington DC, and will also be applied in Chicago, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and San Francisco In the next weeks.
As disruptive companies have entered the transport sector, Curb has wanted to incorporate this option to help the taxi in its evolution and modernize the passenger experience.
This was stated by Amos Tamam, founder and CEO of Curb:

With transportation companies, including Uber and Lyft, facing potential regulation by governments and public markets, taxis are in a unique position to regain market share.
To ensure competitive pricing, Curb’s pricing algorithms have been tested and adjusted on hundreds of thousands of trips as part of a public beta program with industry workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
