The White House announced today that US President Joe Biden announced further aid to the country attacked by Russia during a phone call with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky.
The US will provide Ukraine with a $ 625 million (less than CZK 15.4 billion) military aid package, which will include other weapons and military equipment, including HIMARS blank rocket launchers.
In the interview, which was also attended by Vice President Kamala Harris, Biden also stressed that Washington will never recognize the Russian annexation of the Ukrainian territories. At the same time, you stated that you will continue to support Ukraine in its defense against Russian aggression as long as necessary. In addition to rocket launchers, ammunition and other HIMARS weapons, the new aid also includes artillery systems and armored vehicles, according to the White House statement.
Biden also said in the phone call that the United States is ready to impose sanctions on entities or countries that support Russian claims on Ukrainian territory.
Today, according to the TASS agency, the upper house of the Russian parliament unanimously approved the annexation to Russia of four occupied Ukrainian territories. The State Duma, the lower parliamentary chamber, also supported the annexation agreement of the Zaporozhye, Kherson, Donetsk and Luhansk regions on Monday. The relevant laws are now awaiting the signature of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Today Zelenskyy signed a decree preventing Kiev from negotiating with Putin.
