The United States donated 650,600 Pfizer vaccines to Nicaragua for children from five to 11 years old

The Government of the United States donated 650,600 doses of Pfizer pediatric vaccines to Nicaragua to support the immunization of children between the ages of five and 11 in the Central American country.

The donated vaccines arrived in Managua this afternoon and were received by the Nicaraguan Minister of Health, Martha Reyes, and representatives of Unicef ​​and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO).

The Ministry of Health reported today Sunday 8,730 new cases of covid-19 with a positivity of 14.19% in the last 24 hours nationwide, with 58,650 exams, PCR and antigen tests. Daily positivity in the Metropolitan Region is 13.93%.

The variation of new confirmed cases at the national level is -5% and -8% for the comparison of seven and 14 days, respectively. Meanwhile, five regions have decreased their new confirmed cases in the last seven days and four have done so in the last two weeks.

Regarding deaths, according to the information provided by the DEIS, in the last 24 hours there were 31 deaths from causes associated with covid-19. The total number of deceased amounts to 58,818 in the country.
