The two ice rinks located in Central Park are closed

This is the last weekend you can visit the two Central Park ice skating rinks, before they close due to changes in their administration.

The announcement comes after the municipal government decided to cancel its contracts with the Trump Organization, following the January riots in the Capitol.

The former president’s company manages the Wollman Rink and Lasker Rink tracks, both located in Central Park, and this Sunday, February 21, will be its last day of operations.

The contracts of the Trump Organization were going to expire this year, but Mayor de Blasio decided to advance the termination of the relationship.

The city government is looking for a new company to manage these attractions.

The smaller Lasker Rink will close for renovations to take place in the spring.

The project has a fund of $ 150 million and also includes improvements to the pool.
