The case of the bogus fundraising for the benefit of a sick child has evolved. The scammer behind this low maneuver returned to Twitter after deactivating his account. It was to apologize to his victims. He also promised to reimburse the sums received, not without pretexting that he did not know that the child for whom he had launched the collection was “deceased”.
The message was overwhelmed with responses from victims of the scam. But this reappearance only lasted for a rose. The organizer of the so-called surge of solidarity disappeared from the canvas, leaving behind much desolation. But not sure he gets away with it that easily.
Mamadou Diakhaté, named after the teacher who flushed out the pot of roses and had obtained from the crook’s family that he return the money collected from several dozen donors, does not intend to let go of the case. He claims to have put the police on the track of this young criminal who would have amassed millions of CFA francs at the end of this false fundraising campaign for a child suffering from cancer.
