This is not something any of us would willingly go through. Even just looking at the video is unpleasant, physics is simply relentless. Yet at the end comes a shocking denouement.

A person will probably freeze after watching the first shots of the video attached below. And that despite the heat around us these days. Seeing a miniature Honda “drive off” there is nothing any of us want to look at among the two dozen ton giant more than once. However, this video continues. The shot from the security camera is probably replaced by a mobile phone of poor quality, but the main thing is to see – fate has shuffled the cards here. Don’t miss this one.
The Honda shortened by a meter and a half per second
The small Honda Fit (or Honda Jazz, the Japanese use the Fit designation for their market) is not exactly a vehicle in which anyone would voluntarily pass any crash tests. Well, at least at first glance. On the other hand, this vehicle will surprise you, at least in terms of passive safety. The short front end of the car is obviously heavily braced and the whole structure went through a lot of testing before it went into production. Clear proof that even a small car can be safe.
This was not always the case. Honda in particular has had problems with passive safety in its small cars for quite a long time and the legendary test of the small Civic from 1995, whose roof broke after the impact, perhaps the whole world saw at the time. Of course, similar videos are not what the car company or its advertising department would “put behind the wheel”, so to speak. But Honda worked on strength and construction and the results came. In Jazz, as small as it is, it doesn’t have to be a matter of life anymore.
Life among tons of steel
An unnamed female driver literally experienced this “for her own life” at one of the Japanese intersections. Waiting for the green light, she was standing at a safe distance behind the concrete mixer when she suddenly came from behind a truck drove by and he literally pressed her under the back of the “mix”. At first glance, she could not have a chance to survive, and if she did, then definitely without her lower limbs. In no time, the car was shortened to perhaps a third of its original length, and the space for the crew was also shortened.
The second shot, in which we see the driver in the car, shows that she is relatively fine and communicating. This can be considered a miracle in such a situation. She probably played a role in that tall rear mixer car construction that was “compatible” with the front end of the small Honda. If it was a classic truck or anything like that, the result probably wouldn’t be so optimistic. However, as can be seen, miracles do happen. And the driver can celebrate a double birthday.
