the three April Fools you should not miss this year

In the middle of confinement because of the coronavirus, the situation is not laughing. However, the traditional April fools have indeed flourished on the Web in recent hours, even if an epidemic requires, they were mainly related to the Covid-19. If you haven’t seen these jokes, Europe 1 recaps the top three.

A human chain against the coronavirus

While the government has been hammering out the importance of respecting the famous barrier gestures and social distancing since the start of the health crisis, a call has emerged on Facebook to form a huge human chain around the Earth against the coronavirus. The page even explains that it is necessary to be hand in hand, tight and welded to stem the epidemic. This of course goes against all the measures that it is necessary to respect.

The Tour de France relocated … to South Korea

This April 1 also saw the spread of this atypical advice from French and Swiss academics, “validated” by the French Academy according to their authors, to favor the use of the word “tu” to the “tu” to fight against the Covid-19. Why ? Simply because some sounds, like the “you”, send more postilions …

In addition to the Internet, the press also respected tradition, notably the weekly Point. The latter said that the Tour de France would be relocated to South Korea because of the coronavirus. The magazine even said that the mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi, deplored this decision, while receiving the promise that his city would be the starting point for the first stage of the 2021 edition.

April fools not appreciated in some countries

But April Fools do not make everyone laugh. In Thailand or Taiwan for example, the slightest joke on the Covid-19 can send you to prison, or cost you several thousand euros in fines. The authorities of these countries fear that these jokes will be taken seriously by part of the population.
