He Technological Institute of Galicia, based in A coruña, has presented Airus, the Joint Research Unit that will develop a technological solution to regulate and control drone traffic. The Institute and the company Everis ADS They estimate that it will be ready next year.
What is the project about?
The project will focus on services such as the validation of flight plans, the establishment of prohibited areas or the decongestion of air traffic and the tactics that prevent the collision of drones.
Towards the international market
Safety and efficacy are key. According to the creators of AIRUS, everything will be done using functionalities that do not exist today or whose level of maturity is still low. The Instituto Tecnológico de Galicia and Everis ADS are convinced that the system will compete in international markets. With the support of the Xunta, they believe that it will respond to the demand for highly automated services. The ITG is headquartered at the Barrié Foundation in A Coruña.
