“The Teacher’s Room”: Leonie Benesch Shines in Award-Nominated Drama Film

At the Berlinale in February, she was one of the ten European “Shooting Stars” honored at the festival. Leonie Benesch (“Der Schwarm”, “Dasweiße Band”) was also celebrated in Berlin for her new film “Das Lehrerzimmer”, in which she plays a young teacher who wants to do something against a wave of theft at her school – which was unexpected has consequences.

The drama by Ilker Çatak was recently nominated for seven German film awards, including in the categories of best film, best director and best female lead. The film prizes will be awarded in mid-May, before that (on May 4th) “The Teacher’s Room” will be in cinemas nationwide. And the Munich premiere will take place a little earlier: On Thursday, April 27, the director and his leading actress will be among the guests City-Kino expected.
