The Task Manager gets a new design in Windows 11

Microsoft continues to update the design language in Windows and next is the Task Manager, which in Windows 11 will now get a refresh.

Windows 11 may have been released to not too much hype from consumers. However, this does not stop Microsoft from continuing its mission to constantly innovate and refresh the design of its operating systems. Next up will be the Task Manager in Windows 11 of all things that will be refurbished with a new look and new features.

It was Gustave Monce who first found the refreshed tool inside the latest previews for upcoming Windows 11 updates. We see here that Microsoft continues to implement its Fluent Design language where possible and the feature also has a dedicated dark mode.

The tabs in the Task Manager have been replaced here by a side panel that hopefully offers a little faster and smoother access to different departments. Not surprisingly, it is a simpler design in the new version. Like large parts of Windows 11 compared to previous operating systems and what it has looked like since launch.

Unfortunately, according to Monce, the new edition of the Task Manager should be more or less completely broken right now. Not particularly surprising as he unearthed it from hidden parts of Windows 11 versions that have not yet found their way to the public. Thus, it is not recommended that users start replacing their task manager properly yet. Sooner or later, the new edition should appear with a Windows update.
