Taliban officials have called on Britain to return its diplomats to the country. According to the radical movement, good relations and international cooperation are important to them. The UN, meanwhile, has criticized human rights abuses there.
In Afghanistan, embassies are now emptied and apparently hastily abandoned. The Taliban leadership wants the buildings to be filled again with foreign workers. “And so does our leadership. To repair and rebuild good relations with them and reopen embassies,” said Taliban representative Rahimullah Hijrat.
UN Commissioner for Afghanistan Deborah Lyons, meanwhile, has stressed at the UN council her concerns about the persecution of NATO associates in the country. Despite promises from the Taliban that nothing like this will happen, there are still reports of house searches in the West.
But the Taliban denies such reports. “Where is your help and support from the international community? Instead, you always shout that we are terrorists. Come and see the Taliban government and compare us with the previous one, “said Abdul Mailk, another Taliban representative.
Many Western media complain that it did not have access to demonstrations against human rights violations. Some of the journalists who managed to shoot ended up in a cell and were beaten by the Taliban.
“It is possible that they will kill me next time, because the Taliban have no mercy on journalists, children, women, anyone. They only do what they want. They can only kill and hate,” said the injured journalist Taqi Daryabi.
Since the ban on unauthorized demonstrations, the Ministry of Justice has not issued any permission for further protests, and more troops are moving through the city than usual.
