On August 10, Riot Games confirmed the arrival of the next expansion ” the call of the mountain », A major update scheduled for August 26 which would bring us a new set of maps, new champions, new cosmetic items and game modes, and which would allow us to discover a new region: Targon. When “Call of the Mountain” releases on August 26, it will introduce a whole new structure to LoR’s map release.
- From Call of the Mountain, Riot Games will release new maps every two months or so (with maybe a few surprises from time to time). Each set of three expansions will focus on a new region (here, Targon).
- The first extension of a set will be larger (for Call of the Mountain, there will be 89 collectible cards including 7 champions) and will contain all the cards needed to introduce the main themes of the new region as well as several functional decks featuring this region .
- The second and third extensions will be about half as important each (in this case, there will be 40 cards including 3 champions in the expansion of October and that of December) These expansions will contain various new themes, new mechanics as well as evolutions of the strategies introduced in the first extension.
- Thereafter, each set will add a new champion in each region, and all expansions will contain new cards for each region. However, in a given expansion, some regions will have more cards (including champions) than others. When the third expansion comes out and the set is complete, all regions will have the same number of champions and roughly the same number of cards.
