Safrizal said that the local government entered into a memorandum of understanding with PT Leadership Islands Indonesia (LII) on June 27, 2015. The purpose of the memorandum was to build and develop the Widi Islands region as an eco-tourism destination.
“Since the signing of the MoU in 2015 until now in 2022, PT LII has not carried out the promised tourism area development and management activities,” he said.

“The South Halmahera Regency Secretary indicated that PT LII is a broker who did not develop and use his land for 7 years and finally listed it on the foreign auction site Sotheby’s Concierge Auctions based in New York, USA “, he said.
PT LII is a national investment (PMDN) located in Denpasar Bali, PT LII has obtained a location permit and usage permit which was issued by the North Maluku Province One-Stop Integrated Investment Service (DPMPTSP) according to the head of the North Maluku Prov PTPS Service according to the regulations that if no development and land use activities are carried out within 6 months (according to the assessment results of the technical team) then the permit can be frozen or revoked forever.
