Colorado Match – Vegas outdoors at Lake Tahoe in the NHL regular season was interrupted due to ice problems.

On match day, cloudy weather was expected, but in the end there were no clouds in the sky and the sun melted the ice, according to FlurrySports.

By information by TSN insider Darren Draeger, ice problems arose at the location of the colored logos. This is due to the fact that the color absorbs solar heat.

During an hour’s downtime – after the first period when the score is 1: 0 in favor “Colorado” – the staff tried to put the ice in order, and the league worked out a solution.

NHL commissioner Gary Bettman then said that after much discussion and consultation with the players, the league concluded that it was “unsafe and inappropriate to continue the match under such conditions.”

NHL statedthat the match was interrupted in the interests of the players and for safety reasons due to the deteriorating condition of the ice due to the extremely active sun.

The match was postponed to midnight EST (08:00 Moscow time).

Lake Tahoe is located in the Sierra Nevada mountain range, it is located on the border of the states of California and Nevada. Now the temperature there is plus 2 degrees.
