The Strokes gave a concert last weekend in New York

The Strokes returned to live performances last weekend. New Yorkers were part of an event in support of the candidate Maya Wiley in the city of New York.

Concerts and festivals are returning around the world but in some places they have had to adapt to the current situation and the implementation of strict sanitary filters and healthy distance between the attendees. Throughout the year this has been the only way in which some countries have been able to carry out these events; but a concert in the big apple it shows us otherwise.

Last Saturday (June 11) a show was held inside the remodeled Irving Plaza in order to support the candidacy of the progressive candidate for mayor of New York Maya Wiley. The concert He was looking to raise funds to support his campaign and the best way to do it was with live acts by Dev Hynes and of course, The Strokes.

Far from the fact that this is the first live recital offered by Julian Casablancas and company since the pandemic began, hundreds of videos on social networks show us that the event was held the old way: without healthy distance, sanitary measures or the use of face mask. Several even thought it was a video before the pandemic, but it is not. It is the present, saying that concerts as we knew them before are already a reality in some cities of the world.
