Wife of the late Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (PAN-RB) Tjahjo KumoloErni Guntatri, recounted the moment President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and First Lady Iriana Jokowi paid their respects to the funeral home of the late Tjahjo Kumolo. Erni said Jokowi initially had to call first to express his condolences.

Erni said Jokowi had visited the deceased Tjahjo while still hospitalized. Jokowi, continued Erni, was surprised when he heard the news that the late Tjahjo was sick.

“Indeed, Mr. President was visiting at that time, Mr. Then he was surprised too. So far, Mr not looks sick, not looks sick. Why does it hurt now, it hurts like this like thatso surprised,” said Erni at the funeral home, Saturday (2/7/2022).

Erni then recounted when Jokowi visited the late Tjahjo in the hospital. At that time, Tjahjo’s condition was already in the ICCU room.

“When I met you, Mr already… I mean already at ICCU, not visited. Sometimes it’s just from far away,” added Erni.

Erni also said Jokowi intends to visit the late Tjahjo again. When he heard the news that the late Tjahjo had died, Jokowi immediately called and conveyed his condolences.

“That time huh already, Mom, I’ll see you later, like that. Then you went to Russia, but when you heard the news, you were really surprised,” Erni explained.

“As soon as I heard yesterday, the President immediately called me. Mrs. Iriana also called me to convey her condolences landing also directly here,” he continued.

It is known that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and First Lady Iriana Jokowi arrived in Indonesia after working visits to four countries. Jokowi and Iriana immediately paid their respects to the funeral home of MenPAN-RB Tjahjo Kumolo.

Jokowi and Iriana arrived at Soekarno-Hatta Airport on a Garuda Indonesia GIA-1 aircraft on Saturday (2/7/2022) at 06.25 WIB. Jokowi and his entourage arrived after traveling approximately eight hours from Abu Dhabi International Airport, UAE.

Jokowi was welcomed by Vice President Ma’ruf Amin along with Mrs. Wury Ma’ruf Amin, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko, Commander of the Indonesian Armed Forces General Andika Perkasa, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and Acting Governor of Banten Almuktabar.

Jokowi and Iriana pay homage to Tjahjo Kumolo’s funeral home at the Minister Widya Chandra complex, Jakarta. Jokowi and Iriana arrived at 07.22 WIB.

The two of them were welcomed by Tjahjo Kumolo’s wife, Erni Guntarti, along with Tjahjo Kumolo’s children, namely Rahajeng Widyaswari, Karunia Putri Pari Cendana, and daughter-in-law Detri Warmanto. Jokowi and Iriana then talked with the family of the deceased.

Jokowi remembers the late Tjahjo Kumolo as a calm and simple person. According to Jokowi, Tjahjo Kumolo is also an exemplary figure and a true nationalist.

Also accompanying Jokowi and Iriana during their pilgrimage were Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi and Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung and Mrs. Endang Nugrahani. After talking with Tjahjo Kumolo’s family, Jokowi and Iriana said goodbye.
