. A photo of the artist from Frotey-lès-Vesoul was selected from a kaleidoscope of 514 other photos from around the world. With the humility that befits it, the very local confides in this masterstroke.

La Presse de Vesoul : Jean-Charles Ouvrard, explain to us how one of your “stilt” photos ended up in a New York street?

Jean-Charles Ouvrard : “Since the health crisis and the cancellation of festivals and art fairs, we, artists, have had to find another mode of distribution. I have a website, I use social networks, even if it’s not my age (Editor’s note: Jean-Charles is 49 years old) and I try to show myself as soon as I can, on the web . Thus, since 2018, I have made the decision to apply in online art galleries to sell, share my work, because knowing how to take photos is not knowing how to show them. The galleries do it for me and communicate my work in their own network ….
