The son of Sergei Protoseni, a Russian millionaire who, along with his wife and daughter, was found dead in a villa in Spain, commented on the incident for the first time. Fyodor Protosenya believes that his father cannot kill his family, writes Daily Mail.

Recall that the body of the 55-year-old ex-chief accountant of Russia’s largest private gas company Novatek was found on April 21 in a Spanish village Lloret de Mar, in the province of Girona, where he and his family were preparing to celebrate Easter. I bought a villa in the resort village of Protosenya about 10 years ago. He left Novatek with a wealthy fortune of 400 million euros.

The police were called by Fedor, who was in a villa in France and could not contact his family.

When law enforcement officers arrived at the Spanish villa, they found the bodies of Protosenya’s daughter and wife: they were killed with a knife and an ax, everything around was covered in blood, but gloves were found nearby.

The oligarch himself was found hanging from the belt of his own dressing gown in the garden, and there were no traces of blood on him. Previously, according to the Spanish authorities, the Russian killed his wife Natalya and 18-year-old daughter Maria, and then hanged himself. Fedor Protosenya does not believe in this version.

“My father is not a murderer. He loved my mother and especially Mary, my sister. She was his princess. He would never do anything to harm them. I don’t know what happened that night, but I know that my father would not harm them,” Fyodor Protosenya told reporters.

Protosenya’s close friend, businessman Anatoly Timoshenko, does not believe in the suicide version either. “Sergei did not do this. Sergei did not kill his family. It’s impossible. I don’t want to discuss what could have happened in the house that night, but I know that Sergei is not a murderer,” Tymoshenko said. Another friend of the deceased, a certain Roman Yuravich, said that Sergei was “a happy man and loved his family.”

Protosenya’s death is the fourth in a string of recent mysterious deaths of top Russian gas executives.

Just a few days before this incident, in Moscow was found the murdered family of the former vice-president of Gazprombank Vladislav Avaev. The investigation believes that Avaev killed his wife and daughter, and then shot himself.

On February 25, 2022, 61-year-old Alexander Tyulyakov, Deputy General Director of the Unified Settlement Center of Gazprom (the company’s treasury) for corporate security, was found dead in his home in the Leningrad Region. He allegedly hanged himself in the garage attached to the house.

And on January 30, the police and the Investigative Committee already went to this village and also to commit suicide. The body of 60-year-old Leonid Shulman, head of the Gazprom Invest transport service, was found in the bathroom of his own house. The suicide note stated that he allegedly could not stand the pain in his broken leg.
