The discounted local transport ticket burdens the Freiburg budget less than was assumed when it was introduced. The alliance for a social ticket wants its introduction in the surrounding area.
The social ticket, a discounted local transport ticket for recipients of social benefits, was introduced in the city five years ago. It is valid in the regional transport association, i.e. also in the districts of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald and Emmendingen. At the request of the local council group “A City for All” (Esfa), the city administration took stock. They are satisfied: since the introduction in 2016, a total of 247 067 tickets have been requested.
