Inequality in society is too great and is also increasing, writes a working group in the party, led by Magdalena Andersson.
In four points, the group makes suggestions for what needs to be done to stop the development they describe. Among other things, they want to introduce a millionaire tax.
The richest can afford to contribute more, the working group writes and continues:
“A millionaire tax should therefore be introduced, which hits those with large fortunes but excludes housing and is combined with a ceiling. A broader review of the tax system to strengthen the principle of tax on sustainability is necessary ”.
Ahead of the 2018 election, the Left Party presented a similar proposal for a millionaire tax.
The employers’ organization Svenskt Näringsliv does not like the proposal.
“The Social Democrats want to reintroduce a destructive wealth tax. It was the one that the Persson government abolished on good grounds. A new wealth tax means that the money disappears abroad. Only by launching the idea do you damage the conditions for investments and jobs “, says CEO Jan-Olof Jacke in a written comment to TT.
