Lé Snyule is an association that has existed for 22 years.
But by the way, “Snyule”, what does that mean? The answer can be found in the Saxel patois glossary, written by Mme Dupraz who was a teacher at Habère-Lullin. The word “Senyüla” means “crank” in Chablaisian dialect. A name which therefore fits perfectly with this association which brings together lovers of vintage cars and created by Gilbert Menoud and Hervé Bosson.
« The aims of the association are to safeguard the mechanical heritage of the valley, specifies Hervé Bosson, happy owner of a Citroën C4 (a car from the end of the 1920s) and president of the association. Our association aims to create links between amateurs and owners of cars, motorcycles, bicycles, engines, tractors, old agricultural machinery or collections. This helps us to come together to have contacts with other associations, to organize and participate in concentrations and demonstrations. We also collect the documentation relating to old equipment in order to be able to transmit our passion to the younger generations. »
For their first outing of the year, due to the health crisis, on September 6, Lé Snyule from the Vallée Verte left Saint-André-de-Boëge (headquarters of the association) to travel the roads of Faucigny and Chablais by making a stop at the castles of Allinges. ” The happy team took advantage of this outing to dust off the vintage vehicles which are all over thirty years old, underlines Hervé Bosson. We had a most convivial day with participants aged 30 to 82. The association, which has 33 members, organizes a meeting once a month. ” This makes it possible to discuss projects, to set them up and also to pass on all the little secrets that concern engines or bodies. », Slips the president of Snuyles.
